Why We Started aspeegee: From One Family’s Story to a Calmer Future

There are some ideas that don’t let you go.

They keep whispering even when the world gets loud.

For us, aspeegee started with one of those ideas.

It was born at the edge of exhaustion and love — as we tried to help our son Gabriel find calm in a world that often felt overwhelming.

Like many neurodivergent children, he struggled with sensory overload, sleep, focus… and the invisible weight of expectations. We tried everything — breathing exercises, routines, therapy. And then one night, we gently placed a weighted blanket over him.

He slept.

Deeply. Peacefully.

For the first time in weeks.

It felt like magic — but it wasn’t. It was science.

And it was love.

That’s how aspeegee began.

Not in a factory. Not in a boardroom.

But in our living room. In the mess of everyday life. In the quiet, persistent hope that maybe — just maybe — there’s a way to help more people feel safe, calm and held.

💛 built with heart. powered by purpose.

We didn’t want to just make a product. We wanted to create a movement.

aspeegee stands for something bigger than blankets.

It’s about designing real tools for emotional wellbeing — for neurodivergent teens, overwhelmed students, burned-out parents, anxious thinkers, and anyone who just needs a little bit of peace.

And we want to do it differently.

We produce locally, inside the EU — no mass production, no shortcuts.

We hire inclusively — over 50% of our team are people who experience the world a little differently.

We design every product with intention, science, and softness — because comfort is not a luxury, it’s a human right.

What comes next?

Our first product — the Dekizza weighted blanket — is available for pre-order. It’s not just a blanket. It’s a hug. A reset button. A signal to your nervous system that you are safe.

And this is just the beginning.

We’re building more calming tools — fidget rings, deep-pressure hoodies, gift kits — and a whole ecosystem of emotional support you can touch, feel, and gift.

Because we believe that stress is not just a personal problem. It’s a collective challenge.

And we’re redesigning how we meet it — one small tool at a time.
