From a family in need of calm — to a movement for emotional wellbeing

built with heart. powered by purpose.

Some stories don’t begin with a business plan or a perfect pitch. Ours began in the quiet space between love and exhaustion — in the messy, beautiful chaos of everyday life with a neurodivergent child. It began with the whisper of a hope, a silent plea repeated in our minds every night as we tucked our son in with tired hands and even more tired hearts: Please, let tomorrow be easier.

Our living room was our battlefield and our sanctuary. Between homework, meltdowns, and trying to be everything at once, we were holding on with everything we had. Our son Gabriel had already been diagnosed with autism. And while the diagnosis offered some understanding, it didn’t make the daily storms easier to weather. Every day brought sensory overloads, emotional outbursts, and heartbreaking frustration — for him and for us. Sleep was nearly impossible. Nights were long and restless, mornings short and overwhelming. Our family was living in constant alert mode, like a system that never fully reset. We were doing our best, but the truth is: we were running on empty.

Like so many parents navigating these waters, we searched everywhere for answers. Therapists. Specialists. Routines. Supplements. Soothing toys. We tried everything, hoping something might offer relief, some small breakthrough. And then, one night, long after we should have gone to bed ourselves, we stumbled upon something new — a simple idea buried deep in a late-night scroll: a weighted blanket. It didn’t look revolutionary. Just a product based on deep pressure therapy. A calming tool. A hug without words. Something about it spoke to us. Maybe it was the simplicity. Maybe it was just another flicker of hope. Either way, we ordered one and waited.

We still remember that first night. We laid the blanket gently over Gabriel. It felt too soft to make a difference, too quiet to be powerful. But something happened. Within minutes, his breathing slowed. His body softened. He didn’t resist sleep — he welcomed it. And for the first time in what felt like forever, he slept. Deeply. Calmly. And so did we. When we saw him like that — peaceful, resting, safe — we cried. Because when your child finally sleeps, your heart does too.

That moment didn’t change everything. But it changed something. It gave us a glimpse of what was possible — not just for our son, but for others. What if this wasn’t just a lucky night? What if this tool, this gentle, weighted hug, could help more kids like Gabriel? More teens dealing with anxiety? More young people overwhelmed by the pace and pressure of the world? More exhausted parents, tired students, sensitive thinkers, neurodivergent minds — all quietly longing for a moment of peace?

That night was the beginning of AspeeGee. Not as a business idea, but as a heartbeat. A quiet promise whispered between two tired parents: Let’s make this into something real. Something good.

The name AspeeGee comes from the most honest place — our family. “Aspie” was once a word used to describe people on the Asperger’s spectrum, a word that helped give us language for Gabriel’s experience. And “Gee” stands for Gabriel himself — the reason this all began. A made-up name, rooted in something deeply real. A brand born from one child’s journey, and built with the intention to help many more.

From day one, we knew we wanted to do things differently. We didn’t want mass production. We didn’t want products without soul. We wanted calm — built with care. So we chose ethical, small-batch production in Slovenia and Croatia, close to home. We committed to creating a company where people like Gabriel — neurodivergent, sensitive, curious, brilliant — would feel not just safe, but needed. Our goal is that at least 50% of our team are neurodivergent. That’s not a charity act — that’s our strength.

Every single blanket is packed by our own family members and team members who understand, firsthand, what stress feels like and how comfort can change everything. There is love stitched into every fold. Intention behind every decision. We took time choosing the right materials. Eco-friendly glass beads are layered between cotton to ensure the blanket doesn’t make any noise when you move. Each pocket is quilted so the weight is evenly distributed — no bunching, no shifting, just soothing pressure where you need it most. The covers are soft, breathable, washable. The packaging is simple and reusable. Because calm should never come wrapped in noise.

We still use the blanket every day. Gabriel sleeps under it every night and wakes up more rested, more regulated, more at peace. But it’s not just for sleep. It’s become part of our family ritual. Every day, we take ten minutes — just ten — to breathe, reset, and come back to ourselves. No phones. No talking. Just breath and stillness under the weight. It’s our pause button. Our safety net. Our way to say, you’re okay — to him, to ourselves, to each other.

And we know we’re not the only ones who need that kind of pause. That kind of comfort. That kind of care.

aspeegee isn’t just a blanket. It’s not just a brand. It’s a gentle revolution. A message woven into every stitch: You are not too much. You are not alone. And you deserve to feel safe. Whether you’re a teen struggling with anxiety, a parent navigating meltdowns, or simply a human being overwhelmed by life — this is for you.

We built it with heart.
We run it with purpose.
And we believe — deeply — that this is only the beginning.
